Reticulocyte Count (New Methylene Blue)
Supravital new methylene blue stain shows the RNA network (reticulum) of young red cells. The reticulocyte count and index measure how actively the bone marrow is making red cells in anaemia.
Guideline: CLSI H44-A2 / ICSH supravital reticulocyte counting
Tip: tap the small mic next to any box title and speak to fill just that box; tap the mic on the next box to speak again.

Speak patient details or findings, e.g. "patient name Ravi Kumar, age 45, mobile 98765 43210, rbcs counted ". Or tap the small mic beside any box to fill only that box, then tap the next box's mic. Your browser asks for the microphone only once. Sign in as lab staff for AI understanding; here simple word matching is used.
Fill from microscope photo
Hold the phone camera to the eyepiece, use a microscope camera, or upload an image. AI suggests findings; nothing is filled until you tick and accept. Photograph only the smear - no patient labels.

Smear Camera — teach STAINIC to read Retic
Snap the smear, film or microscope field with your phone camera, or upload a microscope camera image. Photos help STAINIC learn stain patterns so it can suggest findings in future.
Mobile data / Wi-Fi
Each photo (1-12 MB) is uploaded over your internet connection. On mobile data this uses your data plan and may incur charges; prefer Wi-Fi for many photos.
How AI will use photos
Photos are kept in a separate STAINIC image library (not your storage quota) to build future recognition models. When you tap "Suggest findings", the photo is also sent to an AI model, over the internet, which proposes values; nothing is filled until you tick and accept them.
Disclaimer
Photograph only the smear / film / field — never patient names, labels, faces or documents. Photos are not linked to any patient. AI suggestions are decision-support only and must always be verified by a qualified pathologist; they are not a diagnosis or treatment advice.
